Cool Facts
Made in Italy. Parmesan comes from Italy and is made using milk from cows. The cheese gets its name from the Parma region where it was first created.
Aged for years. True Parmesan must sit and age for at least 12 months before you can eat it. The longer it ages, the crunchier and more flavorful it becomes.
Crunchy crystals. Parmesan has tiny white crystals that crunch between your teeth when you bite it. These crystals form naturally as the cheese ages and dries out over time.
Cow's milk magic. Parmesan is made entirely from cow's milk that gets special treatment to turn into cheese. This process has been used in Italy for hundreds of years.
Pizza and pasta. Parmesan is one of the most popular cheeses to sprinkle on pizza, pasta, and salads. Its strong, salty flavor makes dishes taste extra delicious.
