Persian Gulf

Connects to oceans. The Persian Gulf links to the Gulf of Oman through the Strait of Hormuz, which then opens to the Indian Ocean far beyond.

Bordered by deserts. On one side sits Iran, and on the other stretches the Arabian Peninsula. These are mostly dry, hot lands that meet the water.

River delta shapes it. The Shatt al-Arab river delta forms the northwestern shore, bringing freshwater and sediment where Iraq's rivers meet the gulf.

Salty seawater. Like all seas connected to the ocean, the Persian Gulf is salty and supports fish, dolphins, and other marine creatures.
