Extreme mountain climbers. Pikas live higher up mountains than almost any other mammal, with some species living above 20,000 feet in the Himalayas where it's freezing cold and the air is thin.

Stubby cousins of rabbits. Pikas look like tiny rabbits, but with shorter, rounder ears and no visible tail. They're actually in the same family as rabbits and hares.

Perfectly fluffy coat. Their dense, even fur keeps them warm in freezing mountain conditions, and their stocky, round body shape helps them stay cozy in their rocky homes.

Live in the rocks. Pikas make their homes among mountain rocks and boulders where they can hide from predators and harsh weather.
