Water and land lovers. Different ranunculus species live in many habitats. Some grow in wet places like marshes and streams as water crowfoots, while others thrive in meadows and gardens as buttercups.

Spear-shaped leaves. Some ranunculus species are called spearworts because their leaves look like little spear points. These species are usually found in wet environments.

Simple but beautiful. Ranunculus flowers are simple in design with just a few petals, but they come in many colors including yellow, white, pink, and red depending on the species.
