Horns like rhinos. These beetles have amazing horn-like structures on their heads and bodies that look just like a rhinoceros's horn. Males use these horns to wrestle with other males and show off how strong they are.

Incredibly powerful. Rhinoceros beetles are so strong they can lift objects 50 times heavier than their own body weight. That would be like you lifting a school bus with your bare hands!

Over 1,500 species. There are more than 1,500 different kinds of rhinoceros beetles living all around the world, spread across 225 different groups called genera. Each one has its own special horn shapes and sizes.

Part of scarab family. Rhinoceros beetles belong to the scarab beetle family, which also includes dung beetles and many other large beetles. Scarab beetles were even sacred to ancient Egyptians.

Giant insects. Some rhinoceros beetles, especially Hercules beetles, can grow to be 6 inches long or longer, making them some of the biggest beetles on Earth.
