Pyramid of Khafre

Second tallest giant. Khafre's pyramid is the middle of the three great pyramids at Giza and stands about 471 feet tall, making it the second biggest in the group. It looks almost as tall as its neighbor Khufu's pyramid because it sits on higher ground.

Gleaming white crown. This pyramid is the only one of the three Giza pyramids that still has its shiny white limestone cladding at the top. Long ago, all three pyramids were covered in polished white stone that reflected the sun like mirrors.

Pharaoh's eternal home. Khafre built this massive tomb as his resting place around 2558 to 2532 BC during Egypt's Fourth Dynasty. Pharaohs believed these pyramids would help them live forever in the afterlife.

Still keeping secrets. Archaeologists have found hidden chambers and passages inside Khafre's pyramid, and there may be more yet to discover. X-rays and modern scans have revealed mysterious voids that scientists are still trying to understand.
