All the sparkle. Rococo means "really ornamental" and uses tons of gold, shells, curves, and fancy decorations to make everything look extra special and dreamy.

Shell-shaped details. The style gets its name from rocaille, which means rock and shell designs that look natural but are actually carefully carved and placed everywhere.

Smaller, cozier spaces. Instead of huge, grand rooms like the king's palace before, Rococo made smaller, more intimate rooms that felt warm and fun rather than super formal.

Dreamy, tricky art. Rococo paintings often show fancy nobles playing in nature and used special tricks called trompe-l'œil, which means the art makes walls look like they open up into other worlds.

Curvy, unbalanced beauty. The style loves flowing curves and asymmetry, meaning things aren't perfectly balanced, which made spaces feel more natural and playful than stiff, straight designs.
