Balance and Control. Acrobats train their bodies to stay perfectly balanced while doing flips, handstands, and other tricks that would make most people dizzy. It takes years of practice to teach your body exactly what to do.
Found Everywhere. You can see acrobatics at the circus, in gymnastics competitions, during dance performances, and even in action movies. Martial artists and ballet dancers use acrobatic skills too.
Brain and Body Working Together. Acrobatics requires amazing motor coordination, which means your brain and muscles have to work together perfectly. Your body needs to know where it is in space, even when you're upside down.
Beyond Just Humans. While acrobatics usually means people doing tricks, the term also describes things like aerobatics, when stunt pilots make their planes loop and roll through the sky.
Super Strength and Flexibility. Acrobats need both incredible strength to lift their own body weight and flexibility to bend and stretch in amazing ways.
