Perfect proportions. A scale model is a copy of something real where every part is made smaller (or bigger) by the exact same amount. If you shrink a car by half, every wheel, door, and bumper gets half as small too.

Helping builders plan. Architects and engineers use scale models before they build real things like skyscrapers or bridges. The model shows how it will look and helps them spot problems before spending tons of money on the real thing.

Tiny special effects. Movie makers build scale models of cities, spaceships, and dinosaurs to film exciting scenes. These tiny models can look massive on screen when filmed with the right tricks.

Hobby and learning. People collect scale model trains, cars, and planes for fun and to learn how things work. Some models are so detailed that hobbyists spend months building and painting them.

Bigger or smaller. Sometimes scientists make scale models much larger than real objects to study tiny things like atoms or DNA. Other times they make models smaller than the real thing, like a miniature brain to understand how it works.
