Shantungosaurus

Absolutely enormous herbivore. Shantungosaurus giganteus grew to about 50 feet long and weighed 13 to 16 metric tons, making it the biggest hadrosaur, or duck-billed dinosaur, that ever lived.

Plant-eating champion. This dinosaur spent its days eating plants, using its huge body to browse on trees and vegetation in its forest home.

Roamed ancient China. Shantungosaurus lived during the Late Cretaceous period in what is now the Shandong Peninsula of China, walking through lush prehistoric landscapes.

Known from fossils. Paleontologists discovered this incredible dinosaur in rock layers called the Wangshi Group, which preserved its remains for millions of years.
