Biggest Mediterranean island. Sicily is the largest island in the entire Mediterranean Sea, with over 4.7 million people living there. It sits just south of mainland Italy, like a prize jewel in the middle of the sea.

Palermo's vibrant capital. The capital city of Palermo has over 1.2 million people and is known for its colorful markets, ancient churches, and bustling street life. It's one of Italy's most lively and historic cities.
