Nature Day celebration. Sizdah Be-dar, also called Nature Day, is a special Iranian festival that happens thirteen days after Nowruz, which is the Iranian New Year. It's a time when people leave their homes and spend the day enjoying picnics outdoors with family and friends.

Marks the end. This festival marks the end of the Nowruz holiday period in Iran. After thirteen days of celebration and rest, Sizdah Be-dar signals that it's time to return to regular life, but not before having one final outdoor adventure.

Global celebration. While people in Iran celebrate it on the thirteenth day of Farvardin (the first month of their calendar), Iranians living in other parts of the world often celebrate Sizdah Be-dar on a nearby weekend so families can gather together.

Outdoor traditions. During Sizdah Be-dar, families pack food and enjoy time in nature, often in parks, gardens, or by rivers. It's a chance to appreciate the beauty of spring and the natural world after the indoor celebrations of Nowruz.
