Incredibly tall structure. The Sky Tower stands 328 metres high, making it one of the tallest freestanding buildings in the entire Southern Hemisphere. For about 26 years, it was actually the tallest one of all.

Right in the city. You'll find the Sky Tower in Auckland's central business district, at the corner of Victoria and Federal Streets. It's right in the heart of the city where tons of people can see it.

More than just tall. The Sky Tower isn't just for tourists to visit and enjoy the view. It's a telecommunications tower, which means it helps send phone signals and other important communications across Auckland.

Built in the 1990s. The Sky Tower was completed in 1997 and quickly became the symbol of Auckland. Its unique design and amazing height made it instantly recognizable to people all around the world.

World ranking. While it's the second tallest in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower ranks as the 28th tallest tower in the entire world. That's still pretty amazing.
