Land sticking out. A peninsula is special because it has water on three sides but stays connected to the mainland on one side, like a thumb sticking out from your hand.

Found everywhere. Peninsulas exist on every continent in the world, so you can find them in almost every ocean and sea.

The biggest one. The Arabian Peninsula is the world's largest peninsula, and it's so big that several countries fit on it, including Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and others.

Creates unique spots. Because peninsulas are surrounded by water on multiple sides, they often have their own special climates, plants, and animals that are different from the mainland.
