Lives at the top of the world. Snow buntings are the most northerly songbirds in the entire world, breeding throughout the Arctic in the northern hemisphere. They're true Arctic specialists, built to handle the coldest, harshest climates on the planet.

Mountain survivors too. While most snow buntings stick to the Arctic, small groups live on super high, freezing mountain peaks much farther south, like the Scottish Cairngorms and mountains in Alaska. These mountaintops stay cold enough to feel like home.

Songbirds of the frozen north. Snow buntings belong to the passerine family, which means they're songbirds, just like robins and sparrows. It's pretty amazing that one of the toughest, most Arctic-adapted birds you can find is actually a relative of the cheerful birds in your backyard.

Found around the whole Arctic. These birds live in a circumpolar range, meaning you can find them all the way around the Arctic in the northern hemisphere, from Canada to Russia to Greenland. That's a massive territory to cover.
