Snowy Egret

Totally white feathers. Snowy egrets are small herons dressed entirely in brilliant white plumage that makes them shine in wetlands and marshes.

Elegant breeding plumes. During breeding season, snowy egrets grow special fancy feathers called aigrettes on their heads and backs, which is actually where their name comes from.

Yellow feet show. These birds have striking yellow feet that stand out against the water and help them wade through shallow areas hunting for food.

Speedy fish hunters. Snowy egrets dash through shallow water with quick movements to catch small fish, frogs, and other creatures with their sharp beaks.
