Five million athletes. Special Olympics has 5 million participants and their supporters training and competing in 172 countries on every continent.

100,000 events yearly. Every single day, Special Olympics competitions happen somewhere in the world, adding up to more than 100,000 events each year.

All kinds of sports. Athletes compete in everything from basketball and swimming to bowling, gymnastics, and track and field, just like in the regular Olympics.

Unified Sports partners. Unified Sports teams mix athletes with intellectual disabilities alongside athletes without disabilities, so everyone trains and competes together as equals.

Officially recognized. The International Olympic Committee recognizes Special Olympics as an official sports organization, putting it on the same level as other major global sports groups.
