Wheels Stay Connected. The suspension connects your car's body to its wheels and lets them move up and down independently. This keeps at least some part of each tire touching the road at all times, which is super important for control and safety.

Springs and Shock Absorbers. Springs compressed under the car's weight absorb energy when you hit a bump, and shock absorbers slow down that bouncing so you don't keep bobbing up and down. Together they make your ride smooth and comfortable.

A Tricky Balance. Suspension designers have to choose between two things that fight each other: a comfortable, smooth ride and a car that handles well in turns. A softer suspension feels nicer but can be wiggly, while a stiff one grips the road better but feels bumpy.

Different Front and Back. Many cars have different suspension designs in the front and rear because they need to do different jobs. The front suspension helps with steering, while the rear one focuses more on stability and comfort.

Protects Everything Inside. Your suspension acts like a cushion that protects your car, passengers, and any stuff you're carrying from getting damaged by rough roads and sudden impacts.
