Built for broadcasts. Tokyo Skytree is a tower that sends out TV and radio signals across Tokyo so millions of people can watch their favorite shows. It opened in 2012 and is the tallest tower in all of Japan.
Incredibly tall structure. At 634 meters high, Tokyo Skytree is taller than any other tower in Japan and the third tallest building in the entire world. Only the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and Merdeka 118 in Malaysia are taller.
Amazing observation decks. Visitors can take elevators up to viewing platforms where they can see the whole Tokyo cityscape spread out below them on clear days. It's like standing on top of the clouds above the city.
Located in Sumida. The tower stands in the Sumida district of Tokyo, making it a landmark that people can spot from many parts of the city.
