Cool Facts
Italian treasure. Tortellini comes from the cities of Bologna and Modena in a region of Italy called Emilia-Romagna, which is famous for amazing food.
Tasty filling. These little pasta packages are traditionally stuffed with a mixture of meat, Parmesan cheese, an egg, and a pinch of nutmeg, which adds a warm, slightly sweet flavor.
Served in broth. The traditional way to eat tortellini is to float them in hot capon broth, a rich soup made from a special type of chicken.
Tiny and folded. Each tortellini is hand-folded into a little pocket shape, and it's so small that you can fit several bites on one spoon.
