Feels Your Touch. A touchscreen has two jobs at once: it shows you pictures and words like a normal screen, but it also feels when you touch it. When you tap, swipe, or pinch the glass, the screen knows exactly where your finger is.

Stacked Like Layers. Touchscreens are made of multiple layers stacked on top of each other, kind of like a sandwich. The display layer shows the picture, and special sensor layers underneath detect where you're touching.

Three Types of Screens. Most touchscreens use LCD, AMOLED, or OLED displays to show their pictures. Each type makes colors and brightness differently, but they all work great with touch technology.

Everywhere You Look. Touchscreens aren't just on phones and tablets. You'll find them on laptops, video game systems, ATM machines, and even in cars and restaurant ordering kiosks.

Super Fast Response. When you touch a touchscreen, it responds almost instantly because it's constantly scanning to detect your finger. This happens so quickly you barely notice any delay between your touch and what happens on screen.
