Tufted Puffin

Member of the auk family. Tufted puffins are seabirds that belong to the same family as auks and murres, which are built for diving and swimming in cold ocean water.

Bold red and yellow look. These puffins are super easy to spot because of their thick, bright red bills and yellow tufts of feathers on their heads that look like fancy decorations.

Pacific Ocean home. Tufted puffins live all around the North Pacific Ocean, and they're common enough that you can see them in groups in the right places at the right time.

One of three puffin cousins. There are three species of puffins in the genus Fratercula, and the tufted puffin is one of them, sharing many features with its puffin relatives.
