Starch and sugar base. Turkish delight starts with a gel made from starch and sugar that gives it that famous jigly, bouncy texture you can't find in other candies.

Rose and spice flavors. The most traditional kinds taste like rosewater, but you can also find Turkish delight flavored with mint, cinnamon, lemon, or even orange.

Nuts packed inside. Premium versions are packed with chopped pistachios, hazelnuts, walnuts, or dates all held together by the sweet gel.

Powdered coating. Turkish delight gets rolled in powdery stuff like icing sugar or cream of tartar so the pieces don't stick to each other in the box.
