The Knotty Mat. Twister is played on a big plastic mat with 24 colored circles arranged in four rows, red, yellow, green, and blue. Players have to put their hands and feet exactly where the spinner tells them to go.

The Spinner Rules. A spinning wheel tells you which body part goes where, like "right hand on red" or "left foot on yellow." You have to follow the spinner's instructions without falling over or letting go.

Getting Tangled Up. As more instructions pile up, players end up twisted around each other in silly, pretzel-like positions. The game's famous slogan is "the game that ties you up in knots" because you literally do get knotted together.

Made by Milton Bradley. Twister was created by the Milton Bradley Company and became a super popular party game that people still play today. It's all about having fun and not taking yourself too seriously.
