Master of prints. Hiroshige was one of Japan's greatest artists who made beautiful woodblock prints showing nature, cities, and everyday scenes. His pictures are so skillfully made that people around the world still love them today.

Famous mountain views. His most famous work was a series called 'Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido' that showed the journey along a busy road in Japan. He also created incredible prints of Mount Fuji and autumn scenes that made viewers feel like they were really there.

Showed rain and snow. Hiroshige was amazing at painting rain, snow, and mist in his prints, which was very hard to do. These weather scenes made his art look alive and dramatic in ways that surprised and delighted people.

Last great master. Hiroshige lived during the final years of the ukiyo-e tradition, which was a special style of Japanese printmaking. He brought so much skill and beauty to the art form that he is remembered as one of its greatest artists ever.
