Gorgeous cascades. Wisteria produces long, drooping clusters of flowers in purple, blue, pink, or white that look like a waterfall of blooms hanging from the vine.

Native to Asia. Wisteria comes originally from China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam, but people loved it so much that they brought it to Europe and North America.

Woody twining vine. Unlike soft vines, wisteria is made of tough, woody stems that spiral and twist around trellises, fences, and trees as it climbs upward.

Legume family member. Wisteria is related to beans and peas because it belongs to the Fabaceae family, which means some species even produce seed pods like pea plants do.

Garden favorite. Many people grow wisteria on pergolas and arbors because it creates a magical tunnel of flowers and adds a romantic feel to any garden.
