Horned dinosaur. Xenoceratops belonged to a special group of dinosaurs called ceratopsians that had horns and fancy bony frills on their heads.
Canadian discovery. This dinosaur lived in what is now Alberta, Canada, during the Late Cretaceous period, about 78 million years ago.
One known species. Scientists have only found one species of Xenoceratops called Xenoceratops foremostensis, named after the Foremost Formation where it was discovered.
Ancient times. Xenoceratops lived alongside other dinosaurs in a warm, wet landscape very different from modern Canada.
