Five lucky dice. You roll five dice and try to make matching patterns like three of a kind, a full house, or all the same number.

Scorecard strategy. After each roll, you choose where to mark your score on a special card, so you have to think about which patterns will help you win the most points.

Created in 1956. Edwin S. Lowe invented Yahtzee and sold it to Milton Bradley, a famous game company that still makes it today.

Games around the world. Yahtzee comes from older dice games like Yacht and Generala, and similar games like Yatzy are super popular in Scandinavia.

Chance and skill mix. You need luck with your dice rolls, but you also need smart choices about which patterns to go for to beat your opponents.
