The Age of Enlightenment

Reason over tradition. Enlightenment thinkers believed you should question everything and use your brain to figure out how the world works, rather than just believing what older generations told you. This was a huge shift in how people thought about problems.

Science becomes king. People started using the scientific method, which means testing ideas with experiments and evidence instead of just guessing. This changed how humans understood nature, medicine, and even how societies should work.

New ideas spread fast. Books, newspapers, and coffeehouses let people across Europe share exciting new thoughts about freedom, fairness, and how governments should treat people. These ideas eventually changed the world.

Rights for everyone. Enlightenment thinkers said all people should have natural rights and that governments should protect individual liberty. These ideas later inspired revolutions and helped shape modern democracies.

Government should change. They argued that church and state should be separate and that governments should be constitutional, meaning they follow rules and don't have unlimited power. This became the foundation for many modern governments.
