Expert archers and riders. The Amazons were famous for their amazing skills with bows and arrows and their ability to ride horses into battle. They trained hard to become some of the strongest warriors in all of Greek mythology.

All-female warrior society. The Amazons lived in a society made up only of women who were warriors and hunters. They chose to live apart from men, which made them completely unique in ancient Greek stories.

Raised only daughters. According to the myths, Amazon mothers kept their daughters to raise as warriors like themselves. They only briefly met with men when needed and would return any sons to be raised by their fathers instead.

Stars of epic tales. The Amazons appeared in many famous ancient Greek stories, including tales about the hero Heracles and his adventures, and in Homer's epic poem the Iliad about the Trojan War.
