Clever trick room. An Ames room is a specially built space with slanted walls and floors that look normal through a peephole, but everything inside is distorted at strange angles to fool your eyes.
Makes people shrink. When two people stand in an Ames room, one side can make a person look giant while the other side makes them look tiny, even though they're actually the same height.
Invented by Adelbert Ames Jr.. An American scientist named Adelbert Ames Jr. created and patented this optical illusion in 1940, inspired by earlier ideas about how our brains understand what we see.
