Slot canyons formed by water. Antelope Canyon is actually a group of six separate slot canyons carved by water flowing through red rock for millions of years. Slot canyons are narrow passages with tall walls, and they're like nature's own tunnels.

Located in Arizona. Antelope Canyon sits on Navajo land in the American Southwest, east of a place called Lechee in Arizona. It's part of the beautiful Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park that welcomes visitors to explore these amazing rock formations.

Names tell the story. The six sections have cool names like Rattle Snake Canyon, Owl Canyon, Mountain Sheep Canyon, and Canyon X. Each one has its own unique shape and character as water carved through the rock differently in each spot.

Hiking and exploring. People can hike through these canyons to see the incredible red rocks up close and experience the narrow passages firsthand. There's even a hiking trail from Antelope Canyon that leads all the way to Rainbow Bridge National Monument.

Light and shadows. The narrow slot canyons create an amazing light show, especially when sunlight streams down from above and bounces off the smooth, colorful rock walls.
