Ancient Asian Dinosaur. Bactrosaurus lived in Asia during the Late Cretaceous period, between 96 and 85 million years ago, when dinosaurs still ruled the Earth.
Herbivore Hunter. This dinosaur ate only plants and belonged to a group called hadrosauroids, which later became the famous duck-billed dinosaurs with their special flat snouts.
Earliest Known Group. Bactrosaurus is one of the oldest hadrosauroids we know about, making it super important for understanding how these dinosaurs first appeared and evolved.
Partial Skeleton Discovery. Scientists have not found a complete skeleton of Bactrosaurus, but what they have found makes it one of the best understood of all the early hadrosauroids.
