Hidden fleet ships. Each player secretly arranges their warships on a grid before the game starts. Your opponent can't see where your ships are, which is what makes the game exciting and fair.

Coordinate guessing. Players take turns calling out grid squares like "C5" or "H8" to try to hit the other player's ships. You're basically playing a guessing game based on clues from your opponent's responses.

Hit or miss. When you call out a square, your opponent tells you if it's a hit (you struck a ship), a miss (just water), or if you've sunk an entire ship. These clues help you figure out where the ships are hiding.

Strategic thinking. Good players use logic to guess where ships are likely hiding based on previous hits and misses. It's not just random guessing, because smart patterns help you win faster.

Win by sinking all. The first player to sink all of their opponent's ships wins the game. You have to locate and destroy every single ship to claim victory.
