Speed and skill. Bobby Orr used his incredible skating speed and playmaking to revolutionize the defenseman position, showing that defenders could be just as exciting and dangerous as forwards.
Eight straight awards. Orr won the Norris Trophy as the best defenseman eight years in a row, which is still a record that shows how dominant he was at his position.
Unique scoring record. He's the only defenseman ever to win the league scoring title (the Art Ross Trophy), and he won it twice, proving that defensemen could be point-scoring superstars too.
Three-time MVP. Orr won the Hart Trophy as the league's most valuable player three years in a row, an incredible honor usually reserved for the absolute best players in the entire league.
Youngest Hall of Famer. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979 at just 31 years old, becoming the youngest person ever inducted at that time.
