Camptosaurus

Flexible lizard name. Camptosaurus gets its name from the Greek words meaning 'flexible' and 'lizard,' probably because its backbone had extra movement compared to other dinosaurs.

Plant-eating dinosaur. This beaked dinosaur was an herbivore, meaning it ate only plants like ferns, cycads, and conifers that grew in the Jurassic forests.

Lived in Late Jurassic. Camptosaurus roamed western North America and possibly Europe during the Late Jurassic period, when the continents looked very different from today.

Medium-sized dinosaur. Unlike the huge long-necked sauropods of its time, Camptosaurus was a more moderate-sized dinosaur that could walk on two hind legs or drop down to four.
