12 players per team. Unlike American football which has 11 players, Canadian football teams have 12 players on the field at once. This extra player gives Canadian football a faster, more wide-open style of play.

Massive playing field. The field is 110 yards long and 65 yards wide, making it bigger than an American football field. The extra space means more running room and longer, flashier plays.

End zone scoring. Teams score by advancing an oval ball into the opposing team's end zone, similar to American football. Once they reach that zone, they can score points by getting the ball into the end zone or kicking it through the uprights.

Fast and exciting. Because the field is so wide and there are 12 players, Canadian football is known for being super fast with lots of passing and running plays. Teams move the ball down the field quickly and play a wide-open style of football.

Born in Canada. Canadian football developed in Canada in the 1800s and is one of the country's most popular sports. It's very different from American football and has its own special rules and style.
