Sliding stones on ice. In wheelchair curling, players slide large, heavy stones toward a target called the house on a sheet of ice. Teams work together to position their stones in the best spots while trying to knock their opponents' stones out of the way.

Designed for inclusion. Wheelchair curling is specially adapted so that athletes with disabilities affecting their legs or walking can compete at the highest level. Players use a special delivery stick to push the stone instead of the traditional curling motion.

Olympic stage. Wheelchair curling is one of the official sports in the Winter Paralympic Games, where athletes from around the world compete for medals. The sport has been part of the Paralympics since 1998.

Strategy and skill. Wheelchair curling requires players to think several moves ahead, like chess on ice. Teams must communicate constantly to decide where each stone should go and how to outsmart their opponents.

World competition. World Curling, the international governing body, makes sure wheelchair curling follows the same rules and standards everywhere. This lets athletes from different countries compete fairly against each other.
