Cool Facts
Stretchy and bouncy. Unlike tightropes that are pulled super tight, slacklines are loose and flexible so they bounce and sway like a long, narrow trampoline under your feet.
Arms do the work. When you slackline, your arms are constantly moving and shifting to keep your center of balance steady as the line wobbles beneath you.
You control the tension. Slackliners can adjust how tight or loose the webbing is depending on what they want to do, making it easier or harder as they get more skilled.
Special webbing material. Slacklines use flat webbing instead of wire or rope, which gives them the stretchy, dynamic feel that makes them different from traditional tightropes.
