Created in the 1950s. A scientist figured out how to make breadcrumb coating stick to small pieces of chicken meat, which led to the invention of chicken nuggets as we know them today.
Cooked two ways. Chicken nuggets can be deep-fried in hot oil to make them extra crispy, or baked in an oven for a healthier option.
Restaurant favorite. Chicken nuggets became hugely popular at fast food restaurants because they're small, easy to eat with your hands, and fun for kids.
Frozen at home. You can buy frozen chicken nuggets at the grocery store and cook them in your own kitchen whenever you want a quick snack or meal.
Vegetarian versions exist. There are also fake chicken nuggets made from plant-based meat alternatives that are coated and cooked the same way as real chicken nuggets.
