Sweet and peelable. Tangerines are super easy to peel compared to regular oranges, and they taste deliciously sweet. This makes them perfect for snacking straight from your hand.

Mystery fruit mix. Scientists aren't totally sure if tangerines are their own special type of citrus fruit or a variety of mandarin oranges. Some think they might even be a hybrid that includes a bit of pomelo in their family tree.

Mandarin's relative. Tangerines belong to the same family as mandarin oranges, so they're like cousins. Both fruits originated in Asia and became super popular around the world.
