Devil-Horned Dinosaur. Diabloceratops got its name from the Spanish word 'diablo' (devil) and 'ceratops' (horned face) because of the distinctive horns on its head. The name perfectly captures how fierce-looking this dinosaur was.

Medium-Sized Grazer. This plant-eating dinosaur was about 15 feet long and weighed about 1.3 tons, making it a medium-sized dinosaur that walked on four sturdy legs across the ancient Utah landscape.

Super Ancient Discovery. When scientists found Diabloceratops in 2010, it became the oldest known ceratopsid dinosaur ever discovered, pushing back what we thought we knew about when horned dinosaurs first appeared.

Utah Record-Breaker. Diabloceratops was also the first centrosaurine dinosaur found south of Montana, showing that horned dinosaurs lived across a wider area of North America than scientists previously knew.

Named After a Friend. The dinosaur's scientific name honors paleontologist Jeffrey Eaton, who helped protect the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument where the fossil was found.
