Flying disc sport. Disc golf uses the same scoring ideas as regular golf. You try to reach each hole in as few throws as possible, and the player with the lowest score wins.

Holes and targets. A disc golf course has 9 or 18 holes, just like a regular golf course. Each hole has a tee pad where you start and a target basket where you want your disc to land.

Different discs fly differently. Players choose different discs before each shot because they're made with special features that make them fly in different ways. Some discs curve left, some curve right, and some go straight.

Throwing style matters. How you throw the disc affects where it goes and how it flies. Different players develop their own throwing styles to control their shots better.

Played outdoors. Disc golf courses are usually set up in parks and natural outdoor spaces where players throw toward basket targets spread across the landscape.
