Cool Facts
Five players per side. Instead of 11 players like in regular soccer, futsal teams have just 5 players on court at once. This means less standing around and way more chances to touch the ball and score.
Indoor court game. Futsal is played inside on a hard court about the size of a basketball court, not on a grassy field. The smaller space makes the game faster and more exciting, with lots of quick passes and sudden plays.
Heavier, slower ball. The futsal ball is heavier and bounces less than a regular soccer ball, which makes it easier to control in the tight spaces. This helps players do more skill moves and tricks.
Huge worldwide sport. Futsal is played in countries all around the globe and has professional leagues and world championships. Many famous soccer players got their start playing futsal when they were young.
Based on soccer rules. Futsal follows the same basic rules as regular soccer (no hands, try to score goals, offsides exists) but with tweaks to fit the smaller court and faster pace.
