Desert fossil hunter. Ernst Stromer was a German scientist who loved searching for dinosaur bones in faraway places, especially in the Egyptian desert where he found some of the most amazing fossils ever discovered.
Spinosaurus discoverer. In 1912, Stromer found the first-ever bones of Spinosaurus, a massive dinosaur that was even bigger than T. rex and had a giant sail of spines running down its back.
Careful scientist. Stromer studied all his discoveries very carefully and wrote detailed descriptions of what he found, which helped other scientists around the world learn about these ancient creatures.
Explorer of deserts. He believed that the hot, sandy deserts of Egypt held clues to life millions of years ago, and his expeditions proved him right by uncovering dinosaurs no one had ever seen before.
Famous fossil finder. Although many of his collections were lost during World War II, Stromer's discoveries changed how scientists think about giant prehistoric predators.
