What factories do. Factories take raw materials like metal, plastic, or cloth and turn them into finished products like cars, toys, or clothes using powerful machines and teamwork.

Powered by machines. Modern factories use massive machines that can do the same job thousands of times, much faster and more precisely than people could do by hand.

Making the world's stuff. Most of the things you use every day, from your phone to your shoes to your breakfast cereal, were made in factories somewhere on Earth.
