Only in Australia. Galahs are found naturally only in Australia, though they were brought to Tasmania in the mid-1900s and more recently to New Zealand where they now live wild.
Super adaptable birds. Galahs can live in many different habitats, from dry deserts to cities and farms, which is why they're one of Australia's most abundant bird species.
Pink and grey beauty. These cockatoos have striking pink breasts and faces with soft grey feathers on their wings and back, making them easy to spot in the Australian landscape.
Unique bird family. The galah is the only bird in its entire genus, called Eolophus, making it scientifically special among cockatoos.
