Creamy white flowers. Gardenias have beautiful white flowers that look waxy and fancy, almost like they're made of porcelain. They smell incredibly sweet and are popular in gardens and for special occasions like weddings.

Native to warm places. Gardenias come from tropical and subtropical regions across Africa, Asia, Madagascar, the Pacific Islands, and Australia, which means they love warm weather and don't like cold temperatures at all.

Coffee family relatives. Even though gardenias don't look like coffee plants, they're actually part of the same plant family called Rubiaceae, which also includes the coffee plant that gives us coffee beans.

Popular in gardens. People around the world plant gardenias in their gardens because of the gorgeous flowers and amazing fragrance, and they're often used to make corsages and bouquets for special events.
