Gryposaurus

Duckbilled plant-eater. Gryposaurus was a hadrosaur, a group of dinosaurs with flat, wide bills shaped like a duck's bill. These bills were perfect for munching on plants and leaves.

Ancient North American. This dinosaur lived 80 to 75 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period. It roamed around what is now Canada, Montana, and Utah.

Found in three places. Fossils of Gryposaurus have been discovered in the Dinosaur Park Formation in Alberta, the Lower Two Medicine Formation in Montana, and the Kaiparowits Formation in Utah. Scientists may have found bones in Texas too.

Curved nose ridge. The name Gryposaurus means 'hook-nosed lizard' because it had a curved ridge on its nose. This bumpy feature helped it stand out from other duckbilled dinosaurs.
