Tallest mountains on Earth. The Himalayas contain Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world at 29,032 feet. More than 100 mountains in this range tower above 23,600 feet, making it the most extreme mountain system on the planet.

Divides two regions. These massive mountains create a natural border between the Indian subcontinent, where millions of people live, and the Tibetan Plateau to the north. They stretch across Asia like a giant wall separating different worlds.

Over 100 giant peaks. The Himalayas contain more than 100 peaks exceeding 23,600 feet above sea level. Imagine a mountain range so huge it has hundreds of mountains taller than most of Earth's other famous peaks.
